Pain can occur after the placing or adjustment of a device or when the wire is changed.  Teeth respond to forces applied and may be sensitive for a few days.

As a first step, it is suggested to eat softer foods. If needed, take painkillers (Tylenol or Advil) .  In the majority of cases, pain disappears within 3 to 4 days.
