Ceramic Restorations (CEREC)

Ceramic restorations are done using CEREC equipment and its 3D software. This unit enables to do a restoration of very high precision in a single visit. It allows for ceramic veneering or a full crown without resorting to an external dental laboratory.

The first step is the removal of the cavity. An optical impression is then taken and transmitted to a computer. The dentist then uses a software to draw the filling in three dimensions. He carefully chooses the colour of the ceramic block, to match the natural shade of the tooth. Subsequently, the information is sent to the sculpting machine that carves the filling in the chosen block. The filling is then cemented in place and polished. This technology offers many advantages including its natural and translucent color that efficiently mimics the color of the tooth. It is exceptionally durable (much more durable than composite restorations). It is biocompatible, non-metallic, mercury-free, slightly porous and is done in a single visit.
