Treatment with Surgery

When the patient has a severe skeletal malocclusion, it may be necessary to perform orthognathic surgery in addition to the orthodontic treatment. This intervention corrects the position of the jaws, improving facial appearance, as well as your profile and smile. By correcting the position of the jaws, this will prevent facial premature aging while restoring adequate masticatory functions.

When orthognathic surgery is considered, the orthodontist will work in close collaboration with a maxillofacial surgeon and it will be performed in a hospital.
